Chapter 2: MRI results

Updated: Oct 25, 2018

Last week I had my follow-up MRI after my VAD in June. The MRI was scheduled much sooner that when I had my first VAD 3 years ago. It was a very busy week, so my mind wasn't too focused on the results.

Today I went to see my neurologist to get my MRI results. Travelling in to London my tummy was full of butterflies. It was the longest Tube ride ever - no seriously! Every line had delays or signal failures. I had faith that it will be good news! I want to start my training tomorrow, so it just had to be good news. I am a true believer that you speak life into your circumstances. When I walked into his assessment room, it was all good news!!! My VAD has healed. I got the all-clear to start my exercises but to train with my head and not my neck - if that make sense. I am still not allowed to pick up heavy stuff or do any bungee jumping (aaaaahhhhh was so looking forward to it - NOT). Any activity which can cause whiplash is out of the question. So, my Formula One career needs to be put on hold for now ;). I am over the moon. We will have a follow-up appointment in 5 months' time.
